Non-Personally Identifiable Information
We also collect non-personally identifiable information through the use of "cookies" and IP address tracking ("Log Files").

Cookies
A "cookie" is an element of data that a Website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your system. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes the browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie from our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site. Cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users as they visit different sections of the site.

Most browsers are set to accept cookies. Some Web browsers permit you to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you do so, please note that some parts of the services offered by DAFMUG, such as message boards, may not function properly.

Log Files
An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you are on the Internet. When you request pages from our Website, our servers log your IP address. DAFMUG employs IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movements, and gather broad information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

The DAFMUG servers automatically log certain information that DAFMUG uses for statistical analysis of website traffic. The information is stored as log files on the dafmug.org server. The log files are regularly collected and analyzed by software to produce visitor trend reports. We use such information to administer our Website and, in the aggregate, to understand which areas of our Website are favorites of our users, which areas need improvement, and what technologies are being used so that we may continually improve our Website.

The information that is collected includes:

  • User's IP address
  • User's city
  • User's state
  • Length of time user stayed on dafmug.org
  • Where user came into the site
  • Where user left the site
  • Referring site that sent user to dafmug.org
  • Site the user went to when leaving dafmug.org
  • Type of browser user is using
  • Search terms you used on dafmug.org

This information is used to determine:

  • Traffic patterns
  • Average visitor session length
  • Number of visitors to certain areas of the site
  • Banner ad click-through
  • Tracking results of promotional campaigns
  • Other user trends

Server logs do not contain personally identifiable information on individual users, such as names, addresses, email address, occupation, etc. This type of data will only be collected in forms, product sales, or event registrations on dafmug.org.

Non-personally identifiable information might include the type of computer, technical information about your means of connection to our Website, such as the operating systems and the Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information.

We may share this aggregate statistical information with our partners and other third parties, but we will not share any individual names, email addresses, personal navigational, or other personal information.

Security User Information
DAFMUG makes every precaution to protect user information. Only personnel who require the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The servers used to store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. If you have any questions about the security at the dafmug.org website, you may contact us at this link Privacy Info.

DAFMUG uses online forms on dafmug.org to collect specific information for membership and other data collection uses. In cases where private financial information is collected, such as credit card numbers, etc., all forms are secured through Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encryption, the most widely accepted and tested form of data encryption. Of course no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, therefore the user provides DAFMUG with information at his or her own risk.

In addition to Secure Socket Layer encryption during transmission, DAFMUG takes these additional precautions with user information:

All web servers are protected by state-of-the-art, managed firewalls. Credit card numbers are encrypted down to the database field level.

DAFMUG cannot ensure that third-party websites linked from dafmug.org will provide equivalent security. Users should check with the privacy policies of those websites before submitting any personally identifiable information.

Security Online Transactions
DAFMUG makes reasonable effort to ensure that all of the transactions that occur on its Website are secure. All credit card numbers submitted to our Website are encrypted with 128-bit Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") technology, which is the industry standard for information security. Any personal information that you submit as part of a financial transaction is also encrypted with SSL technology. DAFMUG reveals only the last four digits of the user's credit card number when confirming an order. Of course, dafmug.org transmits the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing. It is important for the user to protect against unauthorized access to his or her password and to his or her computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer, and do not send credit card numbers or other financial or proprietary information via email.

Your piece of mind and security is very important to us. If you do not feel comfortable submitting your personal information online, you can submit such information by calling us.

Security Credit Card Processing
DAFMUG uses an outside credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. DAFMUG partners with other parties to provide specific services such as a secured site for financial transactions. When the user signs up for these services, DAFMUG will share names, or contact and other information, that is necessary for the third party to provide these servicesówith the permission of the user, which is implied by user's online submission of such information. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Information Sharing and Disclosure
Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy or as specifically agreed to by you, DAFMUG will not disclose any personal information it gathers from you on dafmug.org. We may release personal information to third parties: (1) to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; (2) in special cases, such as a physical threat to you or others; or (3) to enforce this Agreement. In the event that we are legally compelled to disclose your personally identifiable information to a third party, we will notify you unless doing so would violate the law or court order.

DAFMUG may provide to third parties non-personal information that does not allow you to be identified or contacted and that is combined with the non-personal information of other users.

Privacy of Children
DAFMUG's Website is a general audience Website and does not knowingly market to or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18 years old. We understand that young people need special safeguards and privacy protection. We realize that they may not understand all the provisions of our policy or be able to make thoughtful decisions about the choices that are made available to our adult users. We strongly urge all parents to participate in their children's exploration of the Internet and any online services, and to teach their children about protecting their personal information while online.

We may, at our discretion, require users under 18 to obtain the consent of a parent or guardian to view certain content, and we may limit access to certain content to users above a specified age. You agree to abide by any such restrictions, and not to help anyone avoid these restrictions.

If you would like to review any personal information we have retained about you in our database, please send us an email request for this information at this link Privacy Info Request. To help us address your request, please specify which information you wish to review.

Once you have reviewed this information, at your request we will correct personal information about you that you state is erroneous. To request such a correction, please send an email to this link Privacy Info Request. You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our databases and servers, although we will always make reasonable efforts to do so upon your request.

You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our databases and servers, although we will always make reasonable efforts to do so upon your request.

Transfer to the United States
If users are located outside of the United States, please note that any personally identifiable information that they provide will be transferred to the United States. By submitting personally identifying information to DAFMUG, user consents to this transfer.

Site and Service Updates
From time to time, DAFMUG performs updates to its system. DAFMUG will do its best to inform registered site users of such updates. Users are not able to unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. DAFMUG communicates with the user to provide such information via email.
